We'd like to take a minute to introduce the newest member of the Motorcycle
Cannonball staff, Karrie Sims. Mrs. Sims has joined our team as Events Manager
and has already hit the floor running. In addition to the many administrative
duties she's overseeing, Karrie is ironing out any wrinkles we may have and is
working on producing a souvenir program for the event. Her extensive experience
in event management, as well as her enthusiasm, is a welcome addition to the
team. You can reach her by going to the "Contact
Cannonball" button at the top of the website at www.motorcyclecannonball.com.
Ken, our Webmaster, has been hard at work revamping the website and has
masterfully reworked the format to facilitate new material as well as make the
site more user-friendly. We encourage you to take some time cruising through
the site. Be sure to check out the "Forum" page and see what
riders are hashing out. Between offering support and encouragement, to swapping
parts and folklore, there's plenty to be learned by reading the posts.
The "Entrants" page has details on each entrant and their
motorcycle, while the "Rider's Spotlight" page offers a more in-
depth look at the individual rider and their machine, so if you haven't gotten
your profile questionnaire and photographs back to Felicia, please do so. We'd
like to highlight your participation.
The "News Blog" has up-to-the-minute Cannonball news as well as
links to other news sources regarding the Cannonball. Check out the many video
clips on noteworthy events, machines, and people. Return often, as the
Motorcycle Cannonball is being constantly updated.
As for the Course Master, John Classen, he has left his SoCal home to embark
upon the first of two coast-to-coast drives to map out the course. John and his
lovely wife will travel the proposed route that the Cannonballers will ride in
September. What he will encounter at this time of year is yet to be seen, but
he has already been notified that at least one of the route roads is currently
closed for this trip due to rockslides. We'll be posting his experiences
as he writes from the road, so check back next week as John gives us updates on
his travel adventures.
As for Lonnie Isam, Jr., the Big Boss, he's diligently guiding his minions
towards organizing a historical motorcycling event that has captured the
attention of the world. He s looking forward to riding the open roads with each
and every one of you in September.
